On the afternoon of October 15th, the Liaison Committee of Jiulonghu Town of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held a "People's Livelihood Deliberation Hall" activity centered on the theme of "High-Quality Development of the Fastener Industry". Lin Daji, the chairperson of the District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Ma Zhenwan, the vice chairperson, the heads of relevant functional departments of the district, experts from Ningbo Jiang Laboratory and Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as some members of the district CPPCC, representatives from enterprises and industry associations all attended.

On October 6, 2025, the sixth term change conference of Ningbo Fastener Industry Association was grandly held at Ningbo Zhuangyuanlou Hotel. More than 300 leaders of fastener industry associations, enterprise representatives and member units from all over the country gathered together to witness this grand event in the industry.

On September 2, 2025, the Zhejiang Fastener Industry Association successfully released the group standard "Quantification Methods and Requirements for Carbon Footprint of Greenhouse Gas Products - Fasteners" on the National Group Standard Information Platform. This standard was led by Zhejiang Guojian Testing Technology Co., Ltd. and jointly formulated by 20 enterprises, institutions and 31 industry insiders. The project was initiated on June 6, 2024. After going through the prescribed sequence of discussions with relevant personnel, name changes in accordance with relevant requirements, visits to related enterprises, soliciting opinions, and organizing expert reviews, it took 15 months and finally met the release conditions.

In the fields of mechanical manufacturing, construction engineering and chemical equipment, although bolts are tiny components, they are the "lifeline" for structural stability. According to statistics, over 30% of equipment failures are caused by the failure of bolt connections, among which rust and deformation due to improper storage account for as high as 42%.

In steel structure engineering, bolt connection, as the core assembly method, its installation quality is directly related to the safety and durability of the building. The installation specifications for steel structure bolts are not only a set of technical standards but also the cornerstone for ensuring the quality of the project. According to the current code requirements, bolt connections must meet the three major indicators of strength, stiffness and stability. Any oversight in any link may lead to the risk of structural failure.

In the field of mechanical manufacturing, the safety and reliability of bolt connections directly depend on the thread accuracy. According to statistics, approximately 15% of mechanical failures are caused by fastener issues. As a core means of thread quality control, the accuracy of no-go gauge inspection standards directly affects the product's lifespan and safety.

In the field of mechanical connections, bolts and self-tapping screws, as two core fasteners, often have their differences overlooked by non-professionals. Bolts are typically composed of a head and a shank and need to be used in conjunction with nuts or pre-threaded holes. Their standardized strength grades (such as 8.8) clearly indicate tensile performance and are suitable for heavy-duty scenarios such as steel structures and Bridges. Self-tapping screws, on the other hand, achieve the function of directly penetrating materials through special thread designs (such as coarse pitch and cutting edge) without the need for pre-drilling. They are commonly used for quick connections of wood, plastic, and thin metal plates. This essential difference leads to a significant distinction in material selection between the two: bolts mostly use medium carbon steel or stainless steel and are treated with galvanization to enhance load-bearing capacity, while self-tapping screws rely more on the plastic deformation capacity of zinc alloys or low-carbon steel.
