Carbon footprint quantification requirements and guidelines for fastener products

On January 9, 2025, the launch ceremony of the group standard formulation of the "Carbon Footprint Quantification Requirements and Guidelines for Fastener Products" was held in Zhejiang National Inspection Testing Technology Co., LTD. The meeting was presided over by Chen Jianjun, deputy director of the Bureau of Commerce, Haiyan County fastener industry chain Party construction joint county departments (county Commerce Bureau, county economy and information Bureau, county ecological environmental protection bureau, county market supervision Bureau, county emergency Management Bureau), tight firmware industry association (business), relevant fastener industry chain enterprise leaders attended.

Chen Jianjun, deputy Director of the Bureau of Commerce, focused on the background, significance and urgency of the development of the group standard, and put forward three requirements for the development of the standard:

First, the draft standard is universal, but it still needs to be refined, improve quality, and fill the gaps in the field of fasteners;

Second, the formulation of this standard has great significance for serving local industries, is conducive to enterprises to develop low-carbon products, cope with green trade barriers, contribute to local green and low-carbon development, and should give full play to its leading role;

Third, the standard development should grasp the time node, and the participating departments and enterprises should jointly promote.

At the meeting, the Zhejiang Fastener Industry Association introduced the relevant provisions for the formulation and issuance of provincial group standards and expressed its support for the development of standards and do a good job in follow-up organization. Cui Zhemin, Director of Research and Development Department of Zhejiang National Inspection Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the standard positioning, requirements, standard making concept and preliminary work of the group.

The county Economic and Information Bureau, the county ecological environmental protection Bureau, the county market supervision Bureau, the county emergency Management Bureau and the representatives of various fastener industry chain enterprises expressed their opinions and suggestions.

The group standard of "Fastener product carbon footprint Quantification Requirements and Guidelines" is the company's ability to grasp the industry pain points and technology development trend. It is an important starting point for local fastener enterprises to provide all-round and one-stop services, and it is hoped that through the formulation of this standard, a bridge of collaborative innovation between production, university and research will be built to help fastener enterprises to make green low-carbon manufacturing and continuously improve the industry.
